Blastula
Die Blastula (aus dem Griechischen βλαστός (Blastos), dh "sprießen") ist eine hohle Sphäre von Zellen, die als Blastomere bezeichnet wird und einen inneren, mit Flüssigkeit gefüllten Hohlraum umgibt, der sogenannte Blastocoele, die während eines frühen Stadiums der embryonalen Entwicklung bei Tieren gebildet wurde. Die Embryo-Entwicklung beginnt mit einem Sperma, das ein Ei befruchtet, um eine Zygote zu werden, die viele Spaltungen durchmacht, um sich zu einer Kugel von Zellen zu entwickeln, die eine Morula genannt wird. Erst wenn das Blastocoele gebildet wird, wird der frühe Embryo zu einer Blastula. Die Blastula geht der Bildung der Gastrula voraus, in der sich die Keimschichten des Embryos bilden. Ein gemeinsames Merkmal einer Wirbeltierblastula ist, dass es aus einer Schicht von Blastomeren besteht, die als Blastoderm bekannt ist, die das Blastocoele umgibt. Bei Säugetieren wird die Blastula als Blastozyste bezeichnet. Die Blastozyste enthält einen Embryoblasten (oder innere Zellmasse), der schließlich die endgültigen Strukturen des Fötus und den Trophoblasten hervorbringt, der die extra-embryonalen Gewebe bildet.
