Carbon Papier
Kohlenstoffpapier wurde ursprünglich auf einer Seite mit einer Schicht aus einer lose gebundenen trockenen Tinte oder einer pigmentierten Beschichtung beschichtet, die mit Wachs gebunden war, um eine oder mehrere Kopien gleichzeitig mit der Erstellung eines Originaldokuments bei der Verwendung einer Schreibmaschine oder eines Kugelschreibers zu verwenden. Die Herstellung von Kohlepapier war früher der größte Konsument von Montanwachs. 1954 wurde das Columbia Ribbon \u0026 amp; Carbon Manufacturing Company legte ein Patent für das, was im Handel als Lösungsmittel-Kohlepapier bekannt wurde: die Beschichtung wurde von Wachs-basiert auf Polymer-basiert geändert. Das Herstellungsverfahren wechselte von einem Heißschmelzverfahren zu einer lösungsmittelbeschichteten Beschichtung oder einem Beschichtungsset. Es war dann möglich, Polyester oder andere Plastikfolie als Substrat zu verwenden, anstelle von Papier, obwohl der Name Carbonpapier blieb.
