Chartismus
Chartismus war eine Arbeiterbewegung für politische Reformen in Großbritannien, die von 1838 bis 1850 existierte und die ihren Namen von der Volkscharta von 1838 erhielt. Es war eine nationale Protestbewegung mit besonderen Festhalten der Unterstützung im Norden Englands im Osten Midlands, die Töpferwaren, das Schwarze Land und Süd-Wales. Die Unterstützung für die Bewegung war am höchsten in 1839, 1842 und 1848, als Petitionen, die von Millionen von arbeitenden Menschen unterzeichnet wurden, dem Unterhaus vorgelegt wurden. Die Volkscharta forderte sechs Reformen, um das politische System demokratischer zu machen: ▪ Eine Stimme für jeden Mann, die einundzwanzig Jahre alt ist, von gesundem Verstand und nicht zur Strafe für ein Verbrechen. ▪ Der geheime Stimmzettel - Um den Kurfürsten bei der Ausübung seiner Stimme zu schützen.
