Circe
In der griechischen Mythologie war Circe eine Göttin der Magie. Von den meisten Berichten war Circe die Tochter von Helios, der Gott der Sonne und Perse, ein Ozeanid. Spätere Traditionen erzählen von ihr Verlassen oder sogar Zerstörung der Insel und Umzug nach Italien, wo sie mit Cape Circeo identifiziert wurde.
