Cissoid
In der Geometrie ist ein Cissoid eine Kurve, die aus zwei gegebenen Kurven C1, C2 und einem Punkt O erzeugt wird. Sei L eine variable Linie, die durch O geht und C1 bei P1 und C2 bei P2 schneidet. Sei p der Punkt auf L, so daß OP = P1P2 ist. Dann ist der Ort dieser Punkte P definiert als der Cissoid der Kurven C1, C2 relativ zu O. Etwas andere, aber im wesentlichen äquivalente Definitionen werden von verschiedenen Autoren verwendet. Beispielsweise kann P als der Punkt definiert werden, so dass OP = OP1 + OP2 ist. Dies entspricht der anderen Definition, wenn C1 durch seine Reflexion durch O ersetzt wird. Oder P kann als Mittelpunkt von P1 und P2 definiert werden; Dies erzeugt die durch die vorherige Kurve erzeugte Kurve um einen Faktor von 1/2 skaliert.
