Darüber hinaus gibt es auch Varianten mit Ketten oder einem starren, gebogenen hinteren Abschnitt. Die vorderen Abschnitte der Manschettenknöpfe können mit Edelsteinen, Inlays, Einlagenmaterial oder Emaille verziert und in zwei oder dreidimensionaler Form gestaltet werden. Manschettenknöpfe sind nur für den Einsatz mit Hemden, die Knopflöcher auf beiden Seiten, aber keine Knöpfe haben. Diese können entweder einzelne oder doppelte Bündchen sein und können entweder "küssen" getragen werden, wobei die Enden zusammengeklemmt sind, oder "Fassart", wobei ein Ende das andere überlappt. Der "Fass-Stil" wurde von einem berühmten Unterhaltungs-und Clown des 19. Jahrhunderts, Dan Rice, Allerdings sind "küssen" Manschetten in der Regel bevorzugt.
