Demosthenes
Demosthenes war ein prominenter griechischer Staatsmann und Redner des alten Athens. Seine Orationen stellen einen bedeutenden Ausdruck der zeitgenössischen athenischen intellektuellen Fähigkeiten dar und geben einen Einblick in die Politik und Kultur des antiken Griechenlands während des 4. Jahrhunderts v. Chr. Demosthenes gelernt Rhetorik durch das Studium der Reden der vorherigen großen Redner. Er hat seine ersten gerichtlichen Reden im Alter von 20 Jahren, in denen er argumentierte effektiv zu gewinnen von seinen Vormündern, was von seinem Erbe übrig war.
