Gegenwärtige Dipole werden häufig verwendet, um neuronale Quellen von elektromagnetischen Feldern zu modellieren, die mit MEG- oder EEG-Technologien gemessen werden können. ▪ Ein Strömungsdipol ist eine Trennung von einer Spüle und einer Quelle. In einem hochviskosen Medium bewirkt ein zweischichtiger Küchenmischer ein Dipol-Strömungsfeld. ▪ Ein akustischer Dipol ist die oszillierende Version davon. Ein einfaches Beispiel ist ein Dipollautsprecher. ▪ Jedes Skalar oder ein anderes Feld kann ein Dipolmoment haben. Dipole können durch ihr Dipolmoment, eine Vektormenge, charakterisiert werden.
