Ecotype
In der evolutionären Ökologie beschreibt ein Ökotyp, der manchmal auch Ökospezies genannt wird, eine genetisch unterschiedliche geographische Vielfalt, Population oder Rasse innerhalb der Arten, die an spezifische Umgebungsbedingungen angepasst ist. Typischerweise zeigen Ökotypen phänotypische Unterschiede, die sich aus der Heterogenität der Umwelt ergeben und in der Lage sind, mit anderen geographisch benachbarten Ökotypen ohne Verlust an Fruchtbarkeit oder Vitalität zu interzitieren.
