Endometritis
Endometritis bezieht sich auf Entzündungen des Endometrium, die innere Auskleidung des Uterus. Pathologen haben traditionell endometritis entweder akut oder chronisch eingestuft: akute Endometritis ist durch die Anwesenheit von Mikroabsessen oder Neutrophilen innerhalb der endometrialen Drüsen gekennzeichnet, während die chronische Endometritis durch eine variable Anzahl von Plasmazellen im endometrialen Stroma unterschieden wird. Die häufigste Ursache für Endometritis ist eine Infektion. Symptome sind untere Bauchschmerzen, Fieber und abnorme vaginale Blutungen oder Entlastung. Kaiserschnitt, verlängerter Bruch von Membranen und langer Arbeit mit mehreren Vaginaluntersuchungen sind wichtige Risikofaktoren. Die Behandlung erfolgt in der Regel mit Breitband-Antibiotika. Der Begriff "Endomyometritis" wird manchmal verwendet, um eine Entzündung des Endometrium und des Myometrium zu spezifizieren.
