Ermanaric
Ermanaric war ein gottesfürchtiger König, der vor der hunnischen Invasion offensichtlich einen beträchtlichen Teil von Oium regierte, der Teil der Skythen, der damals von den Goten bewohnt wurde. Er wird in zwei römischen Quellen erwähnt; Die zeitgenössischen Schriften von Ammianus Marcellinus und in Getica durch den Historiker Jordanes aus dem 6. Jahrhundert. Moderne Historiker haben postuliert, dass Ermanaric an einem Punkt ein Reich beherrschte, das sich von der Ostsee bis zum Schwarzen Meer bis weit nach Osten als das Uralgebirge erstreckt.
