Eskimo ist ein Begriff für die indigenen Völker, die traditionell die nördliche Zirkumpolarregion aus Ostsibirien, über Alaska, Kanada und Grönland bewohnt haben. Der Begriff "Eskimo" wird vor allem in Alaska verwendet, um sowohl Yupik als auch Iñupiat einzuschließen. In Kanada und Grönland ist der Begriff "Eskimo" ausgeschlossen, da er von einigen als pejorativ betrachtet wird und weitgehend durch den Begriff "Inuit", "Alaska Natives" oder andere Begriffe ersetzt wurde.
