Kodok oder Kothok, früher bekannt als Fashoda, ist eine Stadt im nordöstlichen südsudanesischen Staat des Oberen Nils. Kodok ist die Hauptstadt des Shilluk-Landes, offiziell als das Shilluk-Königreich bekannt. Shilluk ist seit über sechzehn Jahrhunderten ein eigenständiges Königreich. Fashoda ist bekannt als der Ort, wo die Briten und Franzosen fast in den Krieg im Jahre 1898. Nach Shilluk Glaube, Religion, Tradition und Verfassung, Fashoda dient als die vermittelnde Stadt für den Shilluk König. Es ist ein Ort, an dem Zeremonien und die Krönung jedes neuen Shilluk-Königs stattfinden. Seit über 500 Jahren ist Fashoda verborgen und als verbotene Stadt für den Shilluk-König gehandelt worden, aber als moderne Erziehungsformen und Traditionen entstehen, ist Fashoda jetzt der Außenwelt bekannt.
