Flatworm
Die Flachwürmer oder Platyhelminthes, Plathelminthes oder Platyhelminths (aus dem Griechischen πλατύ, platy, bedeutet "flat" und ἕλμινς (Wurzel: ἑλμινθ-), helminth-, was bedeutet Wurm) sind ein Phylum von relativ einfachen bilaterianischen, unsegmentierten, weichen Körper Wirbellosen. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Bilateristen sind sie Akoelomate (ohne Körperhöhle) und haben keine spezialisierten Kreislauf- und Atmungsorgane, die sie darauf beschränken, geformte Formen zu haben, die es ermöglichen, dass Sauerstoff und Nährstoffe durch Diffusion durch ihren Körper hindurchtreten. Die Verdauungskavität hat nur eine Öffnung sowohl für die Aufnahme (Aufnahme von Nährstoffen) als auch für die Abnutzung (Entfernung von unverdauten Abfällen); Als Ergebnis kann das Essen nicht kontinuierlich verarbeitet werden. In traditionellen Zoologietexten werden Platyhelminthes in Turbellaria unterteilt, die meist nichtparasitäre Tiere wie Planarier und drei völlig parasitäre Gruppen sind: Cestoda, Trematoda und Monogenea; Da sich die Turbolaren seitdem nicht als monophyletisch erwiesen haben, ist diese Klassifikation nun veraltet.
