Flintlock
Flintlock ist der allgemeine Begriff für jede Schusswaffe auf der Grundlage der Flintlock-Mechanismus. Der Begriff kann auch für den Mechanismus selbst gelten. Zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts eingeführt, löste der Flintlock schnell die früheren Feuerwaffen-Zünd-Technologien, wie die Doglock-, Matchlock- und Wheellock-Mechanismen. Es wurde fortgesetzt, gemeinsam für mehr als zwei Jahrhunderte, ersetzt durch Percussion Cap und später Patronen-basierte Systeme in der frühen bis Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Obwohl lange von modernen Schusswaffen abgelöst, genießen Flintlock-Waffen mit Black-Pullover-Shooting-Enthusiasten weiterhin an Popularität.
