Das Hakenkreuz ist ein Symbol, das in der Regel die Form eines gleichseitigen Kreuzes hat, wobei seine vier Arme um 90 Grad gebeugt sind. Es bleibt weit verbreitet in indischen Religionen und fernöstlichen Religionen. Das Wort "Hakenkreuz" kommt aus dem Sanskrit Svastika - "su" kombiniert mit "asti", zusammen mit dem diminutiven Suffix "ka". Das Hakenkreuz bedeutet wörtlich "Wohlbefinden". Es ist eine gängige Praxis für Hindus, Himmels-Symbole an den Türen und Eingängen zu ihren Häusern während der Festivals zu zeichnen, von denen angenommen wird, dass sie eine Einladung zur Göttin Lakshmi symbolisieren.
