Heracleum mantegazzianum
Heracleum mantegazzianum, allgemein bekannt als riesige Hogweed, Cartwheel-Blume, riesige Kuh Pastinak, "Hogsbane" oder riesige Kuh Petersilie, ist eine Pflanze in der Familie Apiaceae. In Neuseeland wird es auch manchmal als wilde Pastinake oder wilder Rhabarber bezeichnet. Es wächst typischerweise in Höhen von 2-5,5 m. Oberflächlich, es ähnelt gemeinsamen Hogweed, Heracleum sosnowskyi oder Garten Angelika. Es ist fototoxisch und gilt als ein schädliches Unkraut in vielen Gerichtsbarkeiten. Riesen-Hogweed stammt aus der Kaukasus-Region und Zentralasien. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde es in Indien als Zierpflanzen eingeführt und hat sich auch nach Irland, Finnland, Schweden, Deutschland, Frankreich, den Niederlanden, Belgien, Tschechien, Lettland, den Vereinigten Staaten und Kanada verbreitet. Der Saft der riesigen Hogweed verursacht Phytophotodermatitis beim Menschen, was zu Blasen, lang anhaltenden Narben und - wenn es in Kontakt mit Augen-Blindheit kommt. Diese schweren Reaktionen sind auf die Furocumarinderivate in den Blättern, Wurzeln, Stielen, Blüten und Samen der Pflanze zurückzuführen.
