Gnostizismus
Der Gnostizismus beschreibt eine Sammlung von alten Religionen, die lehrten, dass die Menschen die materielle Welt, die durch den Demiurge geschaffen wurde, und die geistige Welt umarmen sollten. Gnostische Ideen beeinflussten viele alte Religionen, die behaupten, dass die Gnosis erreicht werden kann, indem sie die Philanthropie bis zur persönlichen Armut, sexueller Abstinenz und sorgfältiger Suche nach Weisheit durch die Unterstützung anderer macht. Allerdings variierten die Praktiken unter denen, die gnostisch waren. Im Gnostizismus ist die Welt des Demiurges durch die untere Welt dargestellt, die mit Materie, Fleisch, Zeit und besonders einer unvollkommenen, kurzlebigen Welt verbunden ist. Die Welt Gottes ist durch die obere Welt vertreten und ist mit der Seele und Vollkommenheit verbunden. Die Welt Gottes ist ewig und nicht Teil des Physischen. Es ist unempfindlich, und es gibt keine Zeit dort. Um zu Gott aufzustehen, muss der Gnostiker das Wissen erreichen, das die Philosophie, die Metaphysik, die Neugierde, die Kultur, das Wissen und die Geheimnisse der Geschichte und des Universums verbindet. Der Gnostizismus ist in erster Linie in einem christlichen Kontext definiert.
