Groupthink ist ein psychologisches Phänomen, das innerhalb einer Gruppe von Menschen auftritt, in der der Wunsch nach Harmonie oder Konformität in der Gruppe zu einem irrationalen oder dysfunktionalen Entscheidungsfindungsergebnis führt. So übertrifft die "Gruppierung" ihre eigenen Fähigkeiten in der Entscheidungsfindung erheblich und unterschätzt die Fähigkeiten ihrer Gegner deutlich. Darüber hinaus kann groupthink entmenschlichte Maßnahmen gegen die "outgroup" produzieren.
