In der Musik ist eine halbe Note oder ein Minimum eine Note, die für die Hälfte der Dauer einer ganzen Note und zweimal der Dauer einer Viertelnote gespielt wird. Bei Taktarten mit einer Stablänge von 4 Schlägen, wie 4/4 oder 3/4 Zeit, ist die Halbnote zwei Schläge lang. Halbe Noten werden mit einem hohlen ovalen Notenkopf und einem geraden Notenstiel ohne Fahnen versehen. Die Halbpause bezeichnet eine Stille für die gleiche Dauer. Halbe Reste werden als eingefüllte Rechtecke gezeichnet, die oben auf der Mittellinie des musikalischen Personals sitzen. Wie bei allen Noten mit Stielen, werden halbe Noten mit Stielen auf der rechten Seite des Notenkopfes gezeichnet, nach oben, wenn sie unterhalb der Mittellinie des Stabes sind. Wenn sie auf oder über der Mittellinie sind, werden sie mit Stielen auf der linken Seite des Notenkopfes gezeichnet, nach unten gerichtet. Seine Rhythmus-Silben sind ta-ah. Die Note ergibt sich aus den Minima in der mensuralen Notation, die lateinisch für "am wenigsten oder kleinsten" ist, weil es in einem Stadium die kürzeste aller verwendeten Notenwerte war. The half rest denotes a silence for the same duration. Half rests are drawn as filled-in rectangles sitting on top of the middle line of the musical staff. As with all notes with stems, half notes are drawn with stems to the right of the note head, facing up, when they are below the middle line of the staff. When they are on or above the middle line, they are drawn with stems on the left of the note head, facing down. Its rhythm syllables are ta-ah. The note derives from the minima in mensural notation, which is Latin for 'least or smallest,' because at one stage it was the shortest of all note values used. The word minim comes from this name. The American term half note is a 19th-century loan translation of German halbe Note.
