Headhunting
Headhunting ist die Praxis, den Kopf einer Person zu nehmen und zu bewahren, nachdem sie sie getötet haben. Themen, die in anthropologischen Schriften über Headhunting entstehen, gehören die Kränkung des Konkurrenten, der rituellen Gewalt, des kosmologischen Gleichgewichts, der Darstellung der Männlichkeit, des Kannibalismus, des Prestiges und als Mittel zur Sicherung der Dienste des Opfers als Sklave im Jenseits. Die zeitgenössischen Gelehrten sind sich einig, dass ihre primäre Funktion zeremoniell war und dass sie Teil des Prozesses der Strukturierung, Verstärkung und Verteidigung der hierarchischen Beziehungen zwischen Gemeinschaften und Individuen war.
