Andere Definition von Illyrisch ist die ausgestorbene und fast nicht aufgezeichnete Sprache dieser Völker: von unsicherem Verhältnis innerhalb der indoeuropäischen Familie, aber von einigen geglaubt, um der Vorfahr des modernen Albaners zu sein.
