In Geographie ist Breitengrad eine geographische Koordinate, die die Nord-Süd-Position eines Punktes auf der Erdoberfläche angibt. Breitengrad ist ein Winkel, der von 0 ° am Äquator bis 90 ° an den Polen reicht. Linien von konstantem Breitengrad oder Parallelen, laufen Ost-West als Kreise parallel zum Äquator.
