Die Mennoniten sind eine christliche Gruppe, die sich um die Kirchengemeinschaften der anabaptistischen Konfessionen handelt, die nach Menno Simons von Friesland benannt sind. In der heutigen Gesellschaft werden Mennoniten entweder nur als religiöse Konfession mit Mitgliedern unterschiedlicher ethnischer Herkunft oder als ethnischer Gruppe und religiöser Konfession bezeichnet. Es gibt Kontroversen zwischen Mennoniten über dieses Thema, mit einigen darauf bestehen, dass sie einfach eine religiöse Gruppe sind, während andere argumentieren, dass sie eine bestimmte ethnische Gruppe bilden.
