Monismus
Monismus ist die philosophische Auffassung, dass eine Vielzahl von existierenden Dingen in einer einzigen Wirklichkeit oder Substanz erklärt werden kann. Die weite Definition besagt, dass alle vorhandenen Dinge auf eine Quelle zurückgehen, die sich von ihnen unterscheidet. Eine allgemein verwendete, eingeschränkte Definition des Monismus behauptet die Anwesenheit einer einheitlichen Substanz oder eines Wesens. Man muss den "Stuff-Monismus" vom "Ding-Monismus" unterscheiden. Nach dem Zeug Monismus gibt es nur eine Art von Sachen, obwohl es viele Dinge aus diesem Zeug gemacht werden kann. Nach dem Ding-Monismus gibt es streng genommen nur ein einziges Ding, das nur künstlich und willkürlich in viele Dinge aufgeteilt werden kann. Im Gegensatz zum Monismus sind der metaphysische Dualismus und der metaphysische Pluralismus. Der Begriff Monismus entstand aus der westlichen Philosophie und wurde oft auf verschiedene Religionen angewandt.
