Multiplexer
In der Elektronik ist ein Multiplexer ein Gerät, das eines von mehreren analogen oder digitalen Eingangssignalen auswählt und den ausgewählten Eingang in eine einzige Zeile leitet. Ein Multiplexer von 2n Eingängen verfügt über n Auswahlleitungen, mit denen die Eingangszeile ausgewählt wird, die an den Ausgang gesendet werden soll. Multiplexer werden hauptsächlich verwendet, um die Menge an Daten zu erhöhen, die über das Netzwerk innerhalb einer bestimmten Zeit und Bandbreite gesendet werden können. Ein Multiplexer wird auch als Datenselektor bezeichnet. Ein elektronischer Multiplexer ermöglicht es mehreren Signalen, ein Gerät oder eine Ressource zu teilen, beispielsweise einen A / D-Wandler oder eine Kommunikationsleitung, anstatt ein Gerät pro Eingangssignal zu haben. Umgekehrt handelt es sich bei einem Demultiplexer um eine Vorrichtung, die ein einziges Eingangssignal aufnimmt und eine von vielen Datenausgangsleitungen auswählt, die mit dem einzigen Eingang verbunden ist.
