Nabatane
Die Nabatäer, auch Nabateaner, waren ein altes semitisches Volk, das Nordarabien und die Südliche Levante bewohnte, ihre Siedlungen in CE 37 - c. 100, gab den Namen Nabatene an die Grenze zwischen Arabien und Syrien, vom Euphrat bis zum Roten Meer. Ihr lose kontrolliertes Handelsnetzwerk, das sich auf Streicher von Oasen konzentrierte, die sie kontrollierten, wo die Landwirtschaft in begrenzten Gebieten intensiv praktiziert wurde, und auf den mit ihnen verbundenen Strecken hatten keine sicher definierten Grenzen in der umliegenden Wüste. Trajan eroberte das nabatäische Königreich und zog es dem Römischen Reich an, wo ihre individuelle Kultur, die sich leicht durch ihre charakteristische, fein getönten Keramik bemerkte, in der allgemeinen griechisch-römischen Kultur verstreut und schließlich verloren wurde.
