Ruhiger Bergmann
Der laute Bergmann ist ein Vogel in der Honeyeater Familie Meliphagidae und ist endemisch zu östlichen und südöstlichen Australien. Dieser Bergmann ist ein grauer Vogel, mit einem schwarzen Kopf, einem orangefarbenen Schnabel und Füßen, einem unverwechselbaren gelben Fleck hinter dem Auge und weißen Spitzen auf den Schwanzfedern. Das Tasmanische Rennen hat eine intensivere gelbe Platte im Flügel und eine breitere weiße Spitze zum Schwanz. Männchen, Weibchen und Jugendliche sind ähnlich im Aussehen, obwohl junge Vögel sind bräunlich-grau. Wie der Gemeinsame Name schon sagt, ist der laute Bergmann eine Gesangsart mit einer großen Auswahl an Liedern, Anrufen, Schimpfen und Alarmen und fast konstanten Vokalisierungen vor allem von jungen Vögeln. Eine von vier Arten in der Gattung Manorina, der laute Bergmann selbst ist in vier Unterarten unterteilt. Die Trennung des Tasmanischen M. m. Leachi ist langjährig und die Festlandvögel wurden 1999 weiter aufgeteilt. In einem breiten Bogen von Far North Queensland durch New South Wales und Victoria nach Tasmanien und Ost-Süd-Australien gelegen, bewohnt der laute Bergmann vor allem trockene, offene Eukalyptuswälder, die fehlen Understory sträuche
