Nomic
Nomic ist ein Spiel, das 1982 von Philosophen Peter Suber erstellt wurde, in dem die Spielregeln Mechanismen für die Spieler beinhalten, um diese Regeln zu ändern, die in der Regel durch ein System der demokratischen Abstimmung beginnen. Nomic ist ein Spiel, in dem das Ändern der Regeln ein Umzug ist. In dieser Hinsicht unterscheidet es sich von fast jedem anderen Spiel. Die primäre Tätigkeit von Nomic schlägt Änderungen in den Regeln vor, diskutiert die Weisheit, sie auf diese Weise zu ändern, auf die Veränderungen zu stimmen, zu entscheiden, was danach getan werden kann und nicht. Auch dieser Kern des Spiels kann natürlich geändert werden. -Peter Suber, Das Paradox of Self-Amendment Nomic bezieht sich eigentlich auf eine große Anzahl von Spielen auf der Grundlage der ersten Regelsatz von Peter Suber in seinem Buch The Paradox of Self-Amendment. Das Spiel ist in gewisser Weise modelliert auf moderne Regierungssysteme. Es zeigt sich, dass in jedem System, in dem Regeländerungen möglich sind, eine Situation entstehen kann, in der die daraus resultierenden Gesetze widersprüchlich oder unzureichend sind, um festzustellen, was in der Tat legal ist. Weil das Spiel ein Rechtssystem und die Probleme der legalen Interpretation, ist es nach νόμος, Griechisch für "Gesetz" benannt.
