Osculierkurve
In der Differentialgeometrie ist eine osculierende Kurve eine ebene Kurve aus einer gegebenen Familie, die die höchstmögliche Kontaktrichtung mit einer anderen Kurve hat. Das heißt, wenn F eine Familie von glatten Kurven ist, ist C eine glatte Kurve und p ist ein Punkt auf C, dann ist eine osculierende Kurve von F bei p eine Kurve von F, die durch p geht und hat so viele ihrer Derivate Bei p gleich den Ableitungen von C wie möglich. Der Begriff leitet sich von der lateinischen Wurzel "osculate" ab, um zu küssen, weil die beiden Kurven sich in einer intimeren Weise als die einfache Tangentialität berühren.
