Partielle Ableitung
In der Mathematik ist eine partielle Ableitung einer Funktion mehrerer Variablen ihre Ableitung in Bezug auf eine dieser Variablen, wobei die anderen konstant gehalten werden. Teilweise Derivate werden in Vektorkalkül und Differentialgeometrie verwendet. Die partielle Ableitung einer Funktion f in bezug auf die Variable x wird unterschiedlich mit dem partiell-abgeleiteten Symbol bezeichnet ∂. Eine der ersten bekannten Verwendungen des Symbols in Mathematik ist von Marquis de Condorcet aus dem Jahr 1770, die es für Teilunterschiede verwendet hat. Die moderne partielle Ableitungsnotation ist von Adrien-Marie Legendre, obwohl er sie später aufgegeben hat; Carl Gustav Jacob Jacobi stellte das Symbol 1841 wieder ein.
