Phonik
Phonics ist eine Methode, um die englische Sprache zu lesen und zu schreiben, indem sie das phonemische Bewusstsein der Lernenden entwickelt - die Fähigkeit, Phoneme zu hören, zu identifizieren und zu manipulieren -, um die Korrespondenz zwischen diesen Klängen und den Rechtschreibmustern, die sie repräsentieren, zu lehren. Das Ziel der Phonik ist es, den Lesern die Möglichkeit zu geben, neue geschriebene Wörter zu entschlüsseln, indem sie sie aussprechen oder phonisch ausdrücken und die Klangschreibmuster mischen. Da es sich um die gesprochenen und geschriebenen Einheiten in Worten handelt, ist Phonik ein sublexischer Ansatz und wird daher oft mit der ganzen Sprache kontrastiert, eine Wort-Level-up-Philosophie für das Lehren des Lesens. Seit der Wende des 20. Jahrhunderts ist die Phonik in der Grundschulbildung und in der Lehre der Alphabetisierung in der englischsprachigen Welt weit verbreitet. Genauer gesagt ist die synthetische Phonik nun die anerkannte Methode der Lehre in den Bildungssystemen in Großbritannien und Australien.
