Prosimianer sind eine Art von Primaten, die Lemuren, Litüren, Buschbabies und Tarsier, aber nicht Simer, z.B. Affen und Affen. Sie werden als Merkmale angesehen, die eher "primitiv" sind als die von Affen und Affen. Prosimianer sind die einzigen Primaten, die in Madagaskar geboren sind, aber auch in ganz Afrika und in Asien gefunden werden. Die Omomyiformen sind eine weitere ausgestorbene Gruppe von Prosimianern, aber sie sind vermutlich Haplorhine, die eng mit den Tarsern verwandt sind, aber eine Outgroup für den Rest der Haplorhine. Der Begriff "Prosimian" wird nicht mehr in der offiziellen Taxonomie verwendet, sondern wird immer noch verwendet, um die Verhaltensökologie von Tarsern relativ zu den anderen Primaten zu illustrieren.
