Ziel der analogen Modulation ist es, ein analoges Basisbandsignal, beispielsweise ein Audiosignal oder ein TV-Signal, über einen analogen Bandpasskanal mit einer anderen Frequenz, beispielsweise über ein begrenztes Funkfrequenzband oder einen Kabelfernsehnetzwerkkanal, zu übertragen.
