In der Medizin stellt der Puls die taktile Arterienpalpation des Herzschlags durch trainierte Fingerspitzen dar. Der Puls kann an jedem Ort palpiert werden, der eine Arterie gegen einen Knochen, wie am Hals, auf der Innenseite des Ellenbogens, am Handgelenk, in der Leiste, hinter dem Knie, in der Nähe des Sprunggelenks, und zu Fuß.
