In der Mathematik ist eine quadratische oder quadratische Fläche eine beliebige D-dimensionale Hypersurface im -dimensionalen Raum, definiert als der Ort der Nullen eines quadratischen Polynoms. In Koordinaten wird das allgemeine Quadratur durch die algebraische Gleichung definiert, die kompakt in Vektor- und Matrixnotation geschrieben werden kann: wobei x = ein Zeilenvektor ist, xT die Transponierung von x ist, Q eine x-Matrix ist und P ein -dimensional ist Zeilenvektor und R eine Skalarkonstante. Die Werte Q, P und R werden oft als reelle Zahlen oder komplexe Zahlen genommen, aber in der Tat kann ein Quadrall über jeden Ring definiert werden. Im Allgemeinen ist der Ort der Nullen eines Satzes von Polynomen als algebraische Sorte bekannt und wird im Zweig der algebraischen Geometrie untersucht.
