Kaninchenfische oder Wirbelsäulen sind perciforme Fische in der Familie Siganidae. Die 28 Arten sind in einer einzigen Gattung, Siganus. In einigen jetzt veralteten Klassifikationen sind die Arten mit prominenten Gesichtsstreifen - umgangssprachlich Foxfaces genannt - in der Gattung Lo. Andere Arten, wie der maskierte Wirbelsäule, zeigen eine reduzierte Form des Streifenmusters. Kaninchenfische sind in flachen Gewässern im Indo-Pazifik geboren, aber S. luridus und S. rivulatus haben sich im östlichen Mittelmeer über die Lessepsische Migration etabliert. Es kann bei der Vorbereitung von Bagoong verwendet werden.
