Radiolyse ist die Dissoziation von Molekülen durch Kernstrahlung. Es ist die Spaltung von einer oder mehreren chemischen Bindungen, die sich aus der Exposition gegenüber dem Hochenergiefluss ergeben. Die Chemie der konzentrierten Lösungen unter ionisierender Strahlung ist äußerst komplex. Die Radiolyse kann die Redox-Zustände lokal verändern und damit die Speziation und die Löslichkeit der Verbindungen.
