Serieller Positionseffekt
Der serielle Positionseffekt ist die Tendenz einer Person, sich an die ersten und letzten Gegenstände in einer Serie zu erinnern, und die mittleren Gegenstände am schlimmsten. Der Begriff wurde von Hermann Ebbinghaus durch Studien, die er selbst durchgeführt hat, geprägt, bezieht sich auf die Feststellung, dass die Rückrufgenauigkeit in Abhängigkeit von der Position eines Gegenstandes innerhalb einer Studienliste variiert. Unter den früheren Listenpunkten werden die ersten Gegenstände häufiger als die mittleren Gegenstände erinnert. Ein vorgeschlagener Grund für den Primat-Effekt ist, dass die ursprünglichen Gegenstände am effektivsten im Langzeitgedächtnis gespeichert werden, wegen der größeren Menge an Verarbeitung, die ihnen gewidmet ist. Der Primat-Effekt wird reduziert, wenn Gegenstände schnell präsentiert werden und wird verbessert, wenn sie langsam präsentiert werden. Längere Darstellungslisten haben den Primat-Effekt reduziert. Ein theoretischer Grund für den Recency-Effekt ist, dass diese Gegenstände noch im Arbeitsspeicher vorhanden sind, wenn Rückruf angefordert wird. Gegenstände, die von keiner profitieren, werden am schlechtesten zurückgerufen.
