Salic gesetz
Salic Law, oder Salian Law, war die wichtigste Körperschaft des fränkischen Gesetzes für alle Franks von Frankia unter der Herrschaft seiner Könige während der altfränkischen Periode, im frühen Mittelalter. Die Gesetze wurden in der lateinischen Sprache von einem vom Monarchen befugten Komitee in schriftlicher Form beibehalten. Dutzende von Manuskripten aus dem 8. Jahrhundert einer vermeintlichen Originalrezension im 6. Jahrhundert und drei Emendationen bis zum 9. Jahrhundert haben überlebt. Salic Gesetz zur Verfügung gestellt schriftliche Kodifizierung der beiden Zivilrecht, wie die Erbrecht und Strafrecht, wie die Strafe für Mord. Es hat einen prägenden Einfluss auf die traditionelle Gesetzgebung, die sich in Mitteleuropa, vor allem in den deutschen Staaten, Frankreich, Belgien, den Niederlanden, Teilen von Italien, Österreich und Ungarn, Rumänien und dem Balkan, auf die Neuzeit ausgeweitet hat.
