Schick-Test
Der Schick-Test, erfunden zwischen 1910 und 1911 ist ein Test verwendet, um festzustellen, ob eine Person anfällig für Diphtherie ist. Es wurde nach seinem Erfinder Béla Schick, einem ungarisch geborenen amerikanischen Kinderarzt, benannt. Der Test ist ein einfaches Verfahren. Eine geringe Menge verdünnter Diphtherie-Toxin wird intradermal in den Arm der Person injiziert. Wenn eine Person nicht genug Antikörper hat, um sie zu bekämpfen, wird die Haut um die Injektion rot und geschwollen, was auf ein positives Ergebnis hindeutet. Diese Schwellung verschwindet nach ein paar Tagen. Wenn die Person eine Immunität hat, dann wird wenig oder gar keine Schwellung und Rötung auftreten, was auf ein negatives Ergebnis hindeutet. Ergebnisse können interpretiert werden als: ▪ Positiv: Wenn der Tester in einem Mol von 5-10 mm Durchmesser resultiert ▪ Pseudo-positiv: wenn es nur eine rot gefärbte Entzündung gibt und es schnell verschwindet ▪ Negative Reaktion: ▪ Pseudo-Negativ-Reaktion: Der Test Wurde entstanden, wenn Immunisierungsmittel knapp und nicht sehr sicher waren, aber da neuere und sicherere Toxoide zur Verfügung gestellt wurden, gab es keine Anforderung mehr für Anfälligkeitstests.
