Selen
Selen ist ein chemisches Element mit dem Symbol Se und der Ordnungszahl 34. Minerale, die reine Selenid- oder Selenatverbindungen sind, sind bekannt, aber selten. Die wichtigsten kommerziellen Verwendungen für Selen sind heute in der Glasherstellung und in Pigmenten. Selen ist ein Halbleiter und wird in Fotozellen verwendet. Verwendungen in der Elektronik, sobald wichtig, wurden meist durch Silizium-Halbleiter-Bauelemente verdrängt.
