Die Shilha-Leute, die gemeinhin als Chleuh bekannt sind, sind eine Berber-Volksgruppe. Sie leben hauptsächlich in Marokkos Atlasgebirge und Souss Valley. Die Shilha-Bevölkerung wird auf etwa 5 Millionen geschätzt. Sie sprechen die Shilha-Sprache in mehreren regionalen Sorten. Die indigenen Völker der zentralen marokkanischen Küste, die von den frühen phönizischen Entdecker angemerkt wurden, wären die Chleuh gewesen. Die ersten Jahrtausendfahrten von Hanno beschreiben die phönizischen Methoden des friedlichen Handels mit den einheimischen Völkern des Mogador-Gebiets. Die Shilha sind mit Berber Musik und Tanz verbunden. Durch einen Prozess der sprachlichen Übertragung, aus der Zeit der französischen Kolonialherrschaft in Nordafrika, wurde auch der Name "Chleuh" ein französischer Pejorationsbegriff für die Deutschen.
