Simonides von Ceos war ein griechischer lyrischer Dichter, geboren bei Ioulis auf Ceos. Die Gelehrten der hellenistischen Alexandrien schlossen ihn in die kanonische Liste von neun Lyriker, zusammen mit Bacchylides und Pindar.
