Somatische Mutationen sind Veränderungen der Genetik eines mehrzelligen Organismus, die nicht durch die Keimbahn an ihre Nachkommen weitergegeben werden. Viele Krebsarten sind somatische Mutationen. Somatisch ist auch definiert als in Bezug auf die Wand der Körperhöhle, vor allem als unterscheidet sich von Kopf, Gliedmaßen oder Eingeweide.
