Zustandsfunktion
In der Thermodynamik ist eine Zustandsfunktion, die Funktion des Zustands, die Zustandsgröße oder die Zustandsvariable eine Eigenschaft eines Systems, das nur vom gegenwärtigen Zustand des Systems abhängt, nicht auf dem Weg, in dem das System diesen Zustand erworben hat. Eine Zustandsfunktion beschreibt den Gleichgewichtszustand eines Systems. Zum Beispiel sind innere Energie, Enthalpie und Entropie staatliche Größen, weil sie quantitativ einen Gleichgewichtszustand eines thermodynamischen Systems beschreiben, unabhängig davon, wie das System in diesem Zustand ankam. Im Gegensatz dazu sind mechanische Arbeit und Wärme Prozessgrößen, weil ihre Werte vom spezifischen Übergang zwischen zwei Gleichgewichtszuständen abhängen.
