Stoolball ist eine Sportart, die bis mindestens das 15. Jahrhundert stammt, mit Ursprung in Sussex, Süd-England. Es kann ein Vorfahr von Cricket, Baseball und Rounders sein, in der Tat Stoolball wird manchmal auch "Cricket in the air" genannt. Traditionell wurde es von milkmaids gespielt, die ihre Melkhocker als "Wicket" benutzten. Die Popularität des Spiels ist seit den 1960er Jahren verblasst, wird aber noch auf einer lokalen Liga in Sussex, Kent, Surrey und den Midlands gespielt.
