Strukturelle linguistik
Die strukturelle Linguistik ist ein Ansatz für die Sprachwissenschaft, der aus der Arbeit des Schweizer Linguisten Ferdinand de Saussure stammt und Teil des Gesamtkonzepts des Strukturalismus ist. De Saussures Kurs in der Allgemeinen Linguistik, der posthum 1916 veröffentlicht wurde, betonte die Untersuchung der Sprache als ein statisches System zusammenhängender Einheiten. Er ist so bekannt als Vater der modernen Linguistik, um den Wechsel von der diachronischen zur synchrone Analyse herbeizuführen, sowie für die noch heute wichtigen Grunddimensionen der semiotischen Analyse wie syntagmatische und paradigmatische Analyse. Die strukturelle Linguistik beinhaltet also das Sammeln eines Korpus von Äußerungen und versucht dann, alle Elemente des Korpus auf ihren verschiedenen sprachlichen Ebenen zu klassifizieren: die Phoneme, Morpheme, lexikalische Kategorien, Nominalphrasen, Verbphrasen und Satztypen. Eine der wichtigsten Methoden von Saussure war syntagmatische und paradigmatische Analyse, die die Einheiten syntaktisch und lexikalisch nach ihrem Kontrast zu den anderen Einheiten im System definieren.
