Sunnitischen Islam
Der sunnitische Islam ist der größte Zweig des Islam; Seine adhärenten werden auf arabisch als ahl as-sunnah wa l-jamā'ah bezeichnet, "Leute der Tradition von Muhammad und der Konsens der Ummah" oder ahl as-sunnah kurz. In englischer Sprache sind sie als sunnitische Muslime, Sunniten und Sunniten bekannt. Der sunnitische Islam ist der zweitgrößte religiöse Körper der Welt, nach dem Christentum und der größten religiösen Konfession für jede Religion in der Welt. Der sunnitische Islam wird manchmal als die orthodoxe Version der Religion bezeichnet. Das Wort "Sunni" wird geglaubt, aus dem Begriff Sunnah zu kommen, der sich auf die Sprüche und Handlungen des islamischen Propheten Muhammad bezieht, wie in Hadithen aufgezeichnet.
