Synthon
In der retrosynthetischen Analyse ist ein Synthon eine destrukturelle Einheit innerhalb eines Moleküls, die mit einer möglichen synthetischen Operation zusammenhängt. Der Begriff wurde 1968 von E.J. Corey Er stellte 1988 fest, dass das "Wort-Synthon" mittlerweile verwendet wird, um synthetischen Baustein eher als retrosynthetische Fragmentierungsstrukturen zu bedeuten ". Es wurde 1998 festgestellt, dass die Phrase nicht sehr prominent in Coreys 1981 Buch, The Logic of Chemical Synthesis, da es nicht in den Index aufgenommen wurde.
